Nutropx Lab includes data derived from the third-party sources below. Each is
reproduced here as required by its licence. This file covers DATA; ordinary npm
runtime dependencies carry their own licences in node_modules.

This notice ships inside the application bundle (it is served at /NOTICE.txt and
is included in the native iOS/Android package via the static export) so that the
required attributions travel with the distributed binary.

CMU Pronouncing Dictionary (CMUdict)

Used to generate src/lib/games/wordData.generated.json, which backs word
validation and rhyme matching in Chain Shift. The rhyme keys in that file are
literal CMUdict phoneme strings, so the generated data is a derivative work of
CMUdict. Only the generated file ships; the CMUdict source corpus is not
committed or distributed with the app. Regenerated by scripts/build-word-data.js.

Obtained as the raw data distribution from https://github.com/cmusphinx/cmudict.
(The GPL-3.0-licensed `cmudict` PyPI/npm wrapper package is deliberately NOT
used, to keep this data licence-compatible with a commercial product.)

SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists)

Used at build time only, to select the ~10.7k common everyday words kept from
CMUdict's ~134k raw entries (and to exclude proper nouns, which SCOWL keeps in
separate files). The generated word list is therefore derived from SCOWL, so its
notice is reproduced as the licence requires.

Rejected source, recorded deliberately

google-10000-english was evaluated as the frequency list and rejected. Its
licence states the data is permitted for "educational and personal/research use"
and explicitly does not recommend commercial use without licensing it from the
Linguistic Data Consortium. SCOWL was used instead because it grants permission
to "distribute and sell ... the output created from the scripts ... for any
purpose".

WordNet 3.1 (Recovery area, mini crossword word exclusions)

Used at preparation time only, to decide which words are kept OUT of the mini
crossword fill. The five categories the client ruled (alcohol, drugs, death,
violence, weapons) are defined as hyponym closures under named WordNet root
synsets, and WordNet's SemCor tag counts define which sense of a word is its
primary one. No WordNet data ships to a device: the word list that ships is a
SCOWL derivative with words removed.

"List of Dirty, Naughty, Obscene, and Otherwise Bad Words", by Shutterstock.
Used at preparation time only, as the published source for the profanity and
slur half of the mini crossword exclusion pass. Applied as published rather
than edited, which is the point of using it. No LDNOOBW data ships to a device.

SVG playing cards (Recovery area, Klondike)

The 52 card faces served from public/recovery/cards/ are the SVG playing card
set by Adrian Kennard (RevK). The court cards are traced from 19th century
Goodall & Son designs, which are themselves long out of copyright.

Obtained 15 August 2026 from https://www.me.uk/cards/, generated with the
author's own tool using redcolour=#A8442F so the red suits arrive in the
Recovery clay token.

"No attribution required. Whilst I'd like a credit, and I would appreciate
it if the link on the Ace of Spades was left intact, that is not a
requirement. You can do what you like with these designs."

No attribution is owed. It is recorded here anyway because the author asked for
credit and it costs nothing.

Two changes were made to the set, both by scripts/prepare-recovery-deck.mjs and
both recorded there. No geometry was altered and no court card was redrawn.

1. Each of the 12 court cards carries a red ink layer that the generator's
colour parameter does not reach. Those 12 attributes were remapped to the
clay token, because red suits in clay is a design requirement here.

2. The Ace of Spades ships with the author's own branding on the face, a QR
code and a text line reading cards.revk.uk. Both were removed. The author
states explicitly that keeping them is not a requirement.

The court figures carry two colours of their own, a blue #44F and a gold #FC4, across the
12 court cards. These are inherited from the Goodall artwork the set traces, not chosen for
this product, and they carry no task meaning: nothing in the Klondike activity asks a player
to read them. They sit outside the Recovery colour tokens deliberately. Recolouring them by
hand would mean altering the licensed artwork for no user-visible benefit, and redrawing the
courts is barred in any case, so they are left exactly as the set supplies them.

They are an approved exception on that basis, ruled 16 August 2026, under the clause naming
"the supplied playing card and mahjong artwork, which carries its own colours". Both values
are pinned in scripts/prepare-recovery-deck.mjs (APPROVED_PAINT), so the deck's paint surface
is enumerated and any other colour, in any notation, fails the check.

Note that the generator program itself, at https://codeberg.org/RevK/SVG-playing-cards,
is licensed GPL-3.0. Only the generated artwork is used, and it is CC0. No part
of the generator is vendored, linked, built or distributed with this app.

Rejected source, recorded deliberately
--------------------------------------

Vector Playing Cards (https://sourceforge.net/projects/vector-cards/) was
evaluated and rejected. It is licensed LGPL-3.0 rather than public domain, which
would have required a written licence exception for no benefit over a CC0 set.
It is recorded here because it is among the most prominently indexed results for
free vector playing cards and its licence is not what a quick read suggests.
